What makes Orlando Learning Academy different from other schools?

What ages and grades do you serve?
We currently welcome children ages 2 years through 1st grade, offering a strong foundation for early learning and growth. As our community grows, we plan to expand to include additional grade levels in the future.
How do we support children as they transition to elementary school?
We focus on building a strong foundation that helps children feel confident and prepared for each new stage of their education. Our small class sizes and individualized approach ensure every child masters key academic skills while also developing independence, problem-solving, and social-emotional strengths. We work closely with families to provide guidance and support during this important transition, so children leave Orlando Learning Academy excited and ready for success in elementary school and beyond.
Play-based learning is a child-centered approach where kids learn through exploration, creativity, and meaningful play. By following their natural curiosity, children build academic, social, and life skills in a way that feels fun, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.
Will my child still learn core subjects like math, reading, and science?
Absolutely! At Orlando Learning Academy, core subjects are woven into every day through hands-on activities, small-group instruction, and engaging lessons. Children explore math, reading, science, and more in ways that spark curiosity and build a strong academic foundation—while keeping learning fun and meaningful.
We do not assign regular homework. Occasionally, we may send home a fun activity or project designed to be enjoyed with the whole family. These opportunities let children share their learning at home while creating meaningful moments that connect families to their child’s growth and discoveries at school.
What is your class size and student-teacher ratio?
We keep our class sizes small to ensure each child receives individualized attention and support. With a 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio, our teachers can build strong relationships with every child, guide learning at their own pace, and create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
What are your hours of operation and do you offer early or afternoon care?

How is progress assessed without constant testing?
At Orlando Learning Academy, we get to know each child deeply through our small class sizes and whole-child approach. Teachers observe and track progress daily, using these insights to guide individualized instruction. For VPK and school-aged children, we also use standardized assessments as a tool to inform teaching, ensuring every child continues to grow academically, socially, and emotionally—without relying on constant formal testing.
What does “multi-age classroom” mean and why do you use it?
In our multi-age classrooms, children are grouped based on their readiness and abilities rather than strictly by age. This allows each child to learn at a pace that suits them, ensuring lessons are appropriately challenging and engaging. By tailoring instruction to individual needs, children build confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and grow academically and socially in a supportive, developmentally appropriate environment.
